Google’s Venice offices opened on November 9. The space was aquired in January this year, and is perfectly in keeping with the general aesthetic of the World’s Information Organizer. Google moved a few months ago into the famous Binoculars building designed by legendary architect Frank Gehry. The building has a good amount of square footage more than its Santa Monica center—the Venice building boasts 100,000 square feet.
Google will have more than enough people to fill the huge building. They have been going on a hiring spree, and signs point to Southern California forming a new base of operations for the company. Santa Monica already plays a significant role, being the home of Google Adsense. Local officials say they are looking forward to boosts from the hiring and spending that the move will bring to local residents and businesses.
Above: a view from above. Who needs a life outside of work with an office space like this (actually, we all do).
